Celebrating Native American Heritage Month in the WNCC: Buddy Owle

Buddy Owle
Buddy Owle is a life-long member of Cherokee UMC who faithfully serves in the church at the local, district, and conference levels. Presently he serves as the church’s Lay Leader and Council Chair. In the past he has also served as Chair of their Council on Ministries as well as other positions of leadership in Cherokee UMC.
In the Waynesville District Buddy has served as Associate District Lay Leader 1990-1994 and as a member of the District Board of Ordained Ministry 2007-12. At the conference level he has served as a member of the WNC Conference Commission on Religion and Race 1990-95 and as a member of the WNC Conference Committee on Native American Ministries 1996-2001, serving as Vice-Chair of this Committee 1996-2000.
As we celebrate Native American Heritage Month, the WNC Conference gives thanks for Buddy Owle and his service to the church.
