General Board of Discipleship Offers Vital Congregations Webinars
A key to vital congregations is small group opportunities for adults; yet we know that adult participation in traditional classes and other small groups is often sporadic, if not declining. Equipping leaders to lead small groups that are relevant and meaningful to adult lives is critical if we are to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
In 2013, GBOD will offer free monthly webinars to help equip leaders for this important work. Registration is required; people may register through www.gbod.org/webinars, locating the webinar of their choice, and completing the registration information.

 

2013 Pastor Parish Relations Committee Training
Bishop Larry M. Goodpaster and the District Superintendents are most grateful for the incredible response to the series of webinars that were presented last week. At each one of the five sessions, the maximum number of people that could be logged on to participate was reached. To have reached capacity each time also meant that others were not able to view the live sessions. While we are grateful for such a response, we regret not being able to accommodate everyone due to our contracts with the service provider.

A video recording of one of the sessions was made available during the first week of January for viewing by all committees and committee members. At the same time, we are in conversation about the next steps we must take to bring this type of training and equipping to more people, more churches, and more groups in the future. We thank everyone for the response and for the feedback, and we anticipate offering more such webinar experiences in 2013. Please click here to view the session.
