Temporary Support Employee

The WNCC Conference office is seeking a temporary employee to provide support to The Conference Resource Center, which provides curriculum and resources to churches in our conference, and the front reception area.  It is anticipated this would be a 6 month position, full-time, 36 hours per week.

The purpose of the WNCC Resource Center is to make quality resources available for churches in our conference that will equip them for vital ministry in their community and around the world.  The ideal candidate would have a degree in Library Science, and/or experience in organizing a lending library, sourcing materials to keep the resources offered current and relevant.

Responsibilities would include searching for new and challenging resources- through catalogs, internet sites, blogs and recommendations from conference staff, pastors and leaders in our conference, maintaining library records through the Surpass Church Library system, recommending material to church leaders and teachers, and sending out material as needed.  The Surpass system involves entering materials borrowed/returned by churches and individuals, inventory control, assigning a barcode for materials, etc.  Experience with curriculum development and knowledge a plus.

This position also shares the responsibility for the Conference office reception area, answering phones, and greeting visitors for several hours each day.  The receptionist also rotates with other administrative staff in sorting and processing mail.
